The idea that people "don't care" about climate change must come from an alternate reality I haven't experienced. I've known people caring about climate change for decades.

The big issue when I was growing up was acid rain and the hole in the ozone layer. We took successful action on both of those.

Despite this strange thesis, the author correctly sees that the complexity and size of the climate change problem, along with its many contributing factors - is indeed what makes it so hard to tackle.

But, rather than burying this issue in the idea that we are not focusing on it, I believe the author is focusing on the wrong things.

If we expect politicians to fix everything, we are not going to get our answers.

There are, however, entrepreneurs, activists, inventors, engineers -- people of all kinds trying to address the issue.

It's not that people don't care. It's that we assign too much control and power to those that are unwilling to take action.

Give our admiration, our money, our time to those who are responding, and you will start to see that at least some humanity has been walking hand-in-hand towards a solution for a long time.

It may not be enough, but there is enough for hope.
